Romano reveals surprising truth behind Mbappe to Arsenal or Liverpool rumours
Fabrizio Romano has broken down the latest Kylian Mbappe transfer rumours, revealing the truth behind the latest news linking the PSG star to Arsenal and Liverpool.
On Wednesday, the news broke that Mbappe’s representatives had offered the player to Liverpool, who had turned him down because his lavish wage demands would shatter the wage structure of the club. It was also stated that Arsenal would reject the player for the same reason.
These are just the latest in a litany of rumours over the future of the France striker, whose contract with PSG expires in the summer, at which point he will become a free agent if no new deal has been struck before then.
Real Madrid are the club most closely linked with him yet a deal is proving tough to strike, with the demands of the 25-year-old considered to be lofty.
Romano, meanwhile, has specifically addressed the whispers linking Mbappe to Arsenal and Liverpool.
Writing for the Daily Briefing, he said: “I have to say guys that I haven’t heard this honestly. There’s no update on Mbappe so far, I’ve really nothing new to share.
“As I always say: the Mbappe story will only be clear when he decides, and he will firstly inform PSG and their president Al Khelaifi.
“At that point we will be able to understand what’s next for Kylian. Sources are denying all other stories.”

Mbappe was in action for PSG against Real Sociedad in the Champions League on Wednesday, scoring the opening goal in a 2-0 victory that leaves Luis Enrique’s side in a strong position to qualify.
After a quiet first half, he reacted quickly in the box to turn home a Marquinhos flick on from a corner with the type of predatory finish that he is not generally renowned for.
