Man Utd and Arsenal target proves worth with screamer against Bayern Munich

Bayer Leverkusen solidified their position as formidable contenders for the Bundesliga title with a 3-0 win over Bayern Munich - and Manchester United and Arsenal target Jeremie Frimpong took much of the acclaim with a superb strike.

The fullback, as well as Josip Stanisic and Alejandro Grimaldo, secured the win at BayArena against the Bundesliga favourites.

Frimpong - who has an Estimated Transfer Value of €47.8million as per FootballTransfers’ algorithm - scored a remarkable solo effort after Manuel Neuer was left stranded, having ventured forward during a corner kick in added time.

Starting his run from 10 yards inside his half, Frimpong navigated past challenges and struck a delightful long-range finish from the right wing.

FootballTransfers revealed that Arsenal are in competition with Man Utd for the Bayer Leverkusen star for the transfer window in the summer. Indeed, despite interest from Erik ten Hag, sources indicated that the 23-year-old player favours a move to the Emirates.

Frimpong has a €40m release fee in his contract and prefers a move to London, with the stability offered by the club seeming to be a decisive factor. Despite being a Netherlands international playing in Germany, Frimpong has strong ties to the UK, having spent a significant part of his life there, including time in the Manchester City academy and starting his professional career with Celtic, who holds a 30% sell-on clause in the player's agreement.
