Romano drops big update on Bardghji's future as Chelsea & Man Utd circle
Fabrizio Romano has explained why Roony Bardghji has seemingly been frozen out of the Copenhagen senior squad.
The Swedish wonderkid has long since been regarded as one of Europe's biggest talents. Bardghji confirmed his status as a standout prospect in 2023, notching ten goals for Copenhagen's first team at the tender of age 17 and eventually downing Man Utd in the Champions League group stage, announcing himself to the world in the process.
The now-18-year-old attacker has been the subject of intense transfer interest from most of Europe's elite sides, but a January move did not materialise as many of those elite sides struggled with Financial Fair Play, resulting in a low-key transfer window. Bardghji, however, was seemingly keen on leaving Copenhagen.

Out of contract in late 2025 and linked with the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd, the Swede has apparently told his Danish club that he won't be extending his deal, which is the reason why the youngster has not featured for Copenhagen this year, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Bardghji frozen out
Speaking on his YouTube channel, the Italian transfer expert revealed: "In the first games of 2024, so this year, he's not playing anymore for Copenhagen with zero minutes. Many people [are] asking why because we know there are many top, important clubs following this boy, so why [is] he not playing?"
"According to my information, the reason [behind] this is only one: the player, Roony Bardghji, has no intention to sign a new deal at Copenhagen. This is the situation as of now. His current contract expires in December 2025, so it means that if nothing changes, in the summer, Roony Bardghji will be available with 18 months left on his contract, but with obviously a different kind of value."

"It could be a really interesting situation for many clubs around Europe. From what I'm hearing, for example, already clubs like Tottenham, for sure, but also, say, Man Utd scouts, Barcelona scouts and Bayern [were] in attendance multiple times in 2023 to follow the progress of the Swedish talent."
