There are already plenty of rumours circulating about some of the biggest talent in Europe and where they could be headed during the upcoming window.

It was somewhat of a calm winter window but there’s no doubt that the 2024 summer transfer window will be as busy as ever, with a number of players potentially leaving for over the €100 million mark.

Below, FootballTransfers runs though the biggest potential moves that could take place this summer.

Victor Osimhen

Victor Osimhen has been linked with a Premier League switch for years, and several elite clubs are interested in the forward, most prominently Chelsea and Arsenal.

Both clubs are looking for a new striker ahead of the 2024-25 season and there is the feeling that Osimhen is ready to leave Napoli.

Recently, the Nigerian striker addressed the rumours about a possible move to England. He said via TNT Sports: "The rumour is going around about me linked with the Premier League. Of course, when you’re one of the hottest strikers in the world you expect this type of thing, it’s one of the biggest and best leagues in the world.

“For me, I’m with Napoli, signed a new contract, and enjoying my time there with the team, at the end of the season I’ve already made up my mind, I already know what I want to do in my career."

If he does leave Napoli, it will likely be for a fee north of €100m, and PSG are thought to be in talks to sign the prolific striker.

Rafael Leao

The second player on this list is another Serie A entry in the form of Rafael Leao - the AC Milan superstar.

Speculative reports have stated that Barcelona will look to sign him if they’re able to finance a move, while Newcastle are another club that have been linked to the Portugal international. But the biggest story is Paris Saint Germain’s interest in Leao. The Ligue 1 may need to sign a Kylian Mbappe replacement if the Frenchman joins Real Madrid and Leao has been touted as a possible successor.

PSG were interested in Leao last summer but no offer was made, partly because Mbappe ended up staying with the Ligue 1 giants.

But, with Mbappe’s future now up in the air, a move to the Parc des Princes could be on the cards for Leao, while teams from Saudi Arabia are also said to be interested.

Mohamed Salah

Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah is likely to be courted once more by the Saudi Pro League side after the richest league in football failed to sign the Egyptian last summer.

He is one of three key Liverpool players, alongside Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contracts are up in 2025 and Jurgen Klopp's departure could see Salah end his career at Anfield.

Last summer, Liverpool rejected a staggering €175million offer from Al-Ittihad for Salah, and the Saudi Pro League side are expected to return with a similar bid this time around.

Bruno Guimaraes

Bruno Guimaraes had a release clause of €116m that has since expired, however there still remains strong interest in the Newcastle midfielder, with Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, and Barcelona all linked with a move.

Interest from Spain is rife, following Guimaraes' impressive performances since joining Newcastle in 2022, while Liverpool and PSG could re-enter the race after expressing their desire to sign the Brazilian last summer.

Frenkie de Jong

Frenkie de Jong has been extensively linked to Manchester United over the past few years, and a move to Old Trafford remains a possibility amid his uncertain wage structure at Barcelona.

The Dutchman has repeatedly stressed that he is happy in Catalunya, but if he does leave then it will likely take a huge fee.

Florian Wirtz

Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz had been viewed as an exciting prospect for a few years before announcing himself as Germany's next great player in the 2023-24 season.

The 21-year-old scored 11 goals and provided 11 assists in 31 Bundesliga games as Leverkusen ended Bayern Munich's 11-year dominance.

He has been linked with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City, but Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro recently told Marca: "No one is unsellable, but for less than €150m (£128m), Wirtz is not leaving."
