‘Sometimes it’s bad’ – Arsenal matchwinner Havertz makes SURPRISING admission

Kai Havertz is starting to come into his own for Arsenal, with the summer signing bagging the winning goal in Saturday’s Premier League fixture against Brentford.

There were only four minutes left on the clock when the former Chelsea player rose to head home a cross to send Mikel Arteta’s side to the summit of the table on a temporary basis at least.

Havertz is flourishing at present, with four goals in his last four Premier League games plus two assists.

Having been used as a central midfielder at the start of the season, the 24-year-old, who arrived with the tag of Chelsea flop round his neck, has proven an unexpected solution to the Gunners’ perceived lack of prolific scorer.

Arsenal manager Arteta has deployed Havertz in as a false 9, and the Germany international has now admitted that it’s not always so good to be considered such a flexible performer.

“Sometimes this is good, sometimes it’s bad. I think, it suits me well. I like to be all around the pitch,” he told Sky Sports.

“I’m just happy be on the pitch. I don’t think I’m a player who can only play in one position.

“The last couple of games I’ve played as a false 9. I love it in this team, I love playing in the No.8 and the No.10, and wherever you want me to go. In Germany, I played as a left-back as well, so it’s all good!”

Havertz chasing his personal best

Havertz is already up to seven league goals for the season and appears on course to hit double figures in this regard for the first time in his career.

He has already equalled his Chelsea tally from last season and is only one shy of his best return to date.

His next challenge, though, will be to guide the Gunners through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League as they seek to turnaround a 1-0 deficit to Porto on Tuesday.
