Griezmann clone snubs Brighton & Newcastle to seal record transfer
Brighton, Newcastle and Bayern are set to miss out on Turkish wonderkid Can Uzun, according to German media.
The 18-year-old has enjoyed an absolutely spectacular breakout season, scoring a whopping 16 goals in all competitions for a hit-and-miss Nürnberg side. The fallen German giants, currently in the 2. Bundesliga, have put their faith in the youngster and he is set to handsomely reward them.
A versatile attacker who is neither a classic number nine nor a classic number ten, Uzun profiles similarly to Antoine Griezmann. Fast, good on the ball and clinical in front of goal, the Regensburg-born teenager, who recently declared for Turkey, is one of German football's most sought-after commodities.

Indeed, the likes of Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Brighton, Newcastle and Everton have been linked with Uzun in recent weeks, but they are all set to be snubbed, according to a fresh report.
Uzun set for Frankfurt
According to BILD, the 18-year-old had a medical at Eintracht Frankfurt on Monday, which he successfully completed. The outlet reports that his move to the Eagles is all but done. The exact fee he will command is not yet known, but it is clear that it will be a record sale for Nurnberg.
In January, Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg reported that Nurnberg will demand north of €10 million for the youngster, with their current transfer record standing at €7m. Nurnberg chief Dieter Hecking recently joked that every goal will add another €1m to his price tag.

Despite missing out on Uzun, it may not be the end of this saga as far as Brighton are concerned. The Seagulls were recently linked with a move for Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush, who is a very similar player to Uzun. Perhaps the youngster is being brought in to replace the Egyptian.
