Haaland transfer BOMB: Sensational report claims striker sending messages to Madrid
A sensational Spanish report claims that Erling Haaland was sending messages to Real Madrid during his recent pre-match press conference ahead of Manchester City’s Champions League last-16, second-leg tie against Copenhagen, paving the way for a blockbuster transfer next summer.
The 23-year-old superstar declined the opportunity to bat away transfer speculation when speaking to the media, opting instead to declare: “Tomorrow you never know what the future brings”.
It was a controversial quote that City could have done without, with the club intent on handing the Norway striker a new contract in order to tie him down for the long term.

Haaland’s current deal expires in 2027 and is reported to contain a clause which would allow him to leave this summer if a certain fee is reached. That fee is also said to become more achievable for buying clubs in the summer of 2025.
While it’s unlikely that he will be moving to the Bernabeu at the end of the current campaign, with Madrid instead spending big to take Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that the all-star duo end up playing up front together in 2025.
Haaland’s ‘measured, premeditated message’ for Real Madrid
“The message was measured, premeditated and directed at Real Madrid,” writes Marca columnist Marco Ruiz in an article entitled “Haaland gives the key to Real Madrid”.
He adds that seeing Mbappe’s deal confirmed was a blow, but moving to the Spanish capital club remains in Haaland’s plans.
In the event that Haaland signs a new deal, it’s believed in Spain that agent Rafaela Pimienta will leave a get-out clause in his new contract, thereby allowing Madrid to more easily fulfil his dream of playing for los Blancos one day soon.
How to fit Haaland, Mbappe and Bellingham in the budget?
An acknowledged complication in any prospective deal would be managing the salaries of the two best forwards in the world today, along with that of Jude Bellingham.
Another finance issue identified by the paper is the claim that Haaland currently earns 100 percent of his image rights at City. Even with Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid, those deals have traditionally been split 50/50 between the club and their stars.
However, given that the Bernabeu revamp stands to net Madrid an extra €150m a season, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility to get those three superstars on the pitch together.
Only a matter of time before Haaland joins Madrid
Haaland’s plan, according to Marca, had always been to move to Madrid after three seasons in the Premier League. He is now a little more than halfway through that time frame.
It claims that the player’s entourage has been in constant contact with the capital club, sending positive signals regarding the release clause, and maintaining lines of communication right up to recent months.
And while the Mbappe deal makes a transfer there all but impossible this summer, there is still the possibility of it happening on schedule. That move, it’s claimed, is what both Haaland and Madrid want.
