Euro 2024: Five England stars who could move clubs this summer

England are heading into the European Championship as one of the favourites for the title, and there are question marks over the futures of several of their stars.

Euro 2024 promises to be a showcase for the talents of some of the Premier League's hottest talents, who could end up changing clubs in the off-season.

Gareth Southgate and his squad will be hoping for a deep run at the tournament and, should that happen, there will be plenty of interest from top European clubs in the following star names.

Aaron Ramsdale

Having lost his place at club level to David Raya, the Arsenal goalkeeper was linked with a move ahead of the January transfer window.

It was reckoned that the 25-year-old would need first-team football in order to sustain a place in Gareth Southgate’s squad.

Chelsea were linked with a move for the former Sheffield United man and Newcastle were also reported to have had a look due to an injury to Nick Pope.

Ramsdale ultimately stayed put at the Emirates but his situation is unlikely to improve.

He might well hang onto his Three Lions’ squad place for the Euros but conversations are going to be needed at the end of the season.

Jarrad Branthwaite

Manchester United are leading the chase for the promising Everton centre back, with new minority part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe ready to throw everything at a deal in order to land the 21-year-old.

Branthwaite has been a shining light in a poor season for the Toffees and could well be sacrificed at the end of the season if they get relegated or face more penalties due to the perilous state of their finances.

A reported £75 million fee might ease some of the money worries for the Goodison Park side but they would nonetheless be loath to lose one of the top emerging stars of this Premier League season.

Conor Gallagher

Chelsea are under pressure to sell £100 million worth of players before the end of June or else risk a Premier League profit and sustainability rules breach and, as a homegrown player, Conor Gallagher looks set to be at the top of the list of outgoings.

The midfielder has yet to come to an agreement over a new contract with his current deal expiring in 2025 and the Blues will be against losing him for nothing in a year’s time.

Potential suitors include London rivals Tottenham, who failed with a bid for the 24-year-old back in the summer window.

Gallagher has been decent for a poor Chelsea side this season and won’t be short of offers should Todd Boehly decide to cash in.

Ivan Toney

The Brentford striker is not long back after serving an eight-month ban due to betting breaches but was linked throughout his time out of the game with a move to Arsenal.

The former Newcastle forward is known to be among Mikel Arteta’s main striking targets, along with Victor Osimhen, but opted against leaving the Gtech Community Stadium in January out of respect for the Bees.

It appears talks over a new deal are at a standstill and with the 28-year-old’s deal expiring in 2025, it could well be time for Brentford to say goodbye in order to maximise Toney’s transfer value.

Jack Grealish

It’s been an incredibly frustrating season for Jack Grealish, who hasn’t managed to kick on after winning the treble with Manchester City last season.

Firstly, he had to contend with Pep Guardiola signing Jeremy Doku as competition for his place in the attack and then he suffered injury problems which have hampered his season to date.

The latest reports suggest Guardiola is ready to cut his losses on the £100 million man this summer with Manchester United and AC Milan reported to be keen.

Grealish, 28, is under contract at City until 2027 but could see his spell at the Etihad cut short this summer if Pep decides to get rid.
