Fabrizio Romano reveals Man Utd bid for Barcelona star
Fabrizio Romano has revealed which clubs have bid for Barcelona’s star players in recent months and years.
Over the weekend, Barcelona president Joan Laporta gave a very revealing interview where he confessed that the Baugrana had rejected a €200 million bid for Lamine Yamal, as well as offers for Frenkie de Jong, Gavi and Ronald Araujo.
Romano has now shed some more light on which clubs actually bid for these players.

What did Romano say?
“Joan Laporta will have raised some eyebrows with comments made in an interview, with the Barcelona president saying the club said no to a proposal worth €200m for Lamine Yamal,” Romano told CaughtOffside.
“My sources have confirmed that the club that approached Barca for Yamal was Paris Saint-Germain – there is interest from the French giants, but at the moment I don’t have confirmation of an official or formal proposal.
“Laporta also mentioned other players attracting interest and I’m sure he is referring to recent years as Man United bid for Frenkie de Jong years ago, and there was also interest from the Premier League for Gavi, and Bayern wanted Ronald Araujo in January.

“But Barca’s plan is very clear: they don’t want to sell their key players. The message is very clear and of course it always depends on players’ decisions, but it’s very quiet so far.”
Barcelona have some very well-documented financial problems and have been tipped to make some sacrifices in the summer transfer window.
Araujo is regarded as potentially the most likely to be sold in order to raise funds.
De Jong is expected to reject any interest again from other clubs, having turned down a move to Manchester United a few summers ago.
Gavi, as a homegrown player, is also unlikely to move on. The Spain star is also recovering from an ACL injury which makes a sale unrealistic.
