EXCLUSIVE: Man City consider meeting release clause for Bruno Guimaraes
Manchester City are exploring the prospect of making a move for Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes in the upcoming summer transfer window, FootballTransfers can reveal.
Sources close to the situation have told us that Man City have a huge interest in the Premier League ace, as they look to bolster the centre of the park.
Guimaraes is renowned for his ability to control the tempo of the game, break up opposition attacks, and contribute offensively, with goals and assists. Pep Guardiola, in particular, is a big fan of the Brazil international's versatility and tenacity. The Spaniard also likes Lucas Paqueta but the ongoing off-the-field issues involving the West Ham man means a move is unlikely.

Will Bruno Guimaraes leave Newcastle?
As previously reported, the 26-year-old is likely to leave St James’ Park at the end of the season, in a bid to find a club playing Champions League football. He has a strong ambition to play for Barcelona or Real Madrid but it looks likely that such a move is unlikely to materialise this time around.
We were informed that Newcastle will listen to offers from both Spanish clubs, but for any other side, they must meet the £100 million release clause in full. Paris Saint-Germain remain keen, while a move to Chelsea or Liverpool for Guimaraes is seen as unlikely at this stage.

After Newcastle’s 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest last month, Guimaraes spoke to Sky Sports about his future.
He said: “Sometimes people speak a lot about me. I just speak a lot about football. I’m very happy here, and I like how the fans think of me here.
“I enjoy my time here a lot. I have never felt so loved. The fans have been unbelievable with me and my family. When I get the shirt I try to play for them. I don’t know (how long I’ll be here), but I hope this can keep going for much longer.”
