Man City make Ederson decision amid injury woes
Ederson has been hit with a handful of injuries this season, but he remains key for Manchester City, who are set to hand the Brazilian a new bumper contract.
Ederson was forced off in Man City's 1-1 draw with Liverpool last Sunday due to a muscular complaint, while Stefan Ortega was given 90 minutes in goal this Saturday as the champions beat Newcastle 2-0.
Ortega is a more than able depute, while Ederson is valued at €57.4 million by FootballTransfers' in-house algorithm - a handy potential sum against the backdrop of 115 FFP charges hanging over City's heads.

But none of that will persuade the club to part ways with the Brazilian. Indeed, he is to be given a new contract that will see his weekly wage increase by two thirds.

Ederson to earn £200k a week
"Manchester City want to open new contract talks with Ederson," reports The Daily Star's Harry Pratt. "Currently on £120,000-a-week, the South American, injured in the draw with Liverpool last weekend, is likely to see that jump to £200k in an improved extension."
The pay hike would lift Ederson above players like Kyle Walker, Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake and make him the joint-eighth highest earner alongside Josko Gvardiol - on exactly half the money Kevin De Bruyne earns.

Ederson still has two years to run on his existing deal, meaning there is no immediate need to extend, but it is testament to the regard he is held in at the Etihad that they want to do so this soon.
Indeed, it is Ortega who could be set to leave at the end of the season. The German has said he feels ready to be a No.1, and Bayern Munich were among the clubs he reportedly knocked back in Germany, with Manuel Neuer so entrenched there.
