Man Utd reignite interest in star they could have signed at cut price
Manchester United are poised to explore the prospect of signing Donyell Malen - though they could have got the Borussia Dortmund winger at a cut price during the January transfer window.
A report from GiveMeSport states that discussions are on the horizon among the Red Devils’ hierarchy and Erik ten Hag regarding the feasibility of pursuing the attacker, especially given the torrid form of Antony and the uncertainty around Jadon Sancho, who’s on loan with Malen’s side.
Malen showcased his goal-scoring prowess by finding the back of the net in Dortmund's recent 2-1 victory over Werder Bremen, with his tally now at 13 goals in all competitions. The Bundesliga club may have Man Utd knocking on the door in the summer over acquiring his services.

How much would Donyell Malen cost?
It comes after the news that Dortmund hiked up Malen's asking price. Reports were circulating indicating Malen was discontent at Dortmund, attributing it to being consistently played out of position. Dortmund had reportedly made him available during the winter transfer window, setting a €30 million price tag - while FootballTransfers exclusively revealed that Man Utd were considering a loan move with an option to buy Malen in the summer.

However, as no formal offer occurred. But in the second half of the season, the Dutchman has had an upturn in performances - and this has led Dortmund to increase their asking price for Malen.
According to BILD, Dortmund will once again entertain offers for the 25-year-old in the upcoming summer transfer window, but they are unwilling to settle for anything below €40 million to €50 million. With several Dortmund players set to be out of contract, the club aims to revamp its squad, and they hope to do so through player sales.
