Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund spoke to The United Stand last month, but since then owner and host of the channel, Mark Goldbridge, has received death threats.

Hojlund has started to justify his €73.9 million price tag since last summer's move from Atalanta, hitting six of his seven Premier League goals since the turn of the year.

A childhood fan of the club as well as follower of The United Stand, he agreed to go on the show soon after his arrival in Manchester and was good to his word last month.

Whilst Hojlund didn't appear to say anything too controversial, some teammates were reportedly unhappy with his appearance on a platform that has previously been critical of them.

And now the backlash has gone further.

'Dead man walking'

"The United Stand have since received death threats warning Goldbridge that he is 'a dead man walking' and threatening to harm him if he turns up at Old Trafford," reports Chris Wheeler for The Daily Mail.

"The messages on social media mentioned other members of staff and the exact location of the studio. Police were called out on Tuesday while security has also been stepped up."

The United Stand is the club's most viewed fan channel, with 1.83m subscribers on YouTube and 2.3m followers on X (formerly Twitter).

"I totally understand that football is a passionate and divisive sport, and that people are free to decide and have an opinion on what content they consume," Goldbridge, real name Brent Di Cesare, told the Mail.

"However, the pile-on some of our staff were subject to over the weekend was incredibly sad to witness. To be threatening people's lives yet again evidences the vile pack mentality that exists on social media."

Hojlund, now valued at €61.8m by FootballTransfers' in-house algorithm, has 13 goals and two assists across his 30 games in all competitions for United this season.
