He's back! Sancho FINALLY scores as forgotten Man Utd flop sees red

Jadon Sancho finally opened his (second) account for Borussia Dortmund in the Black and Yellows' hard-fought win over Werder Bremen.

The Manchester United loanee had been making headlines for all the wrong reasons in recent weeks. The euphoria of Dortmund fans over his arrival quickly dissipated when Sancho, having not played competitive football since the summer, showed severe signs of rustiness.

Robbed of his first Dortmund goal by teammate Niclas Füllkrug in his second game back at the club - Sancho had won a penalty but the striker wouldn't let him take it - the winger's performances rapidly declined in subsequent fixtures to the point where German media started asking major questions.

However, against Werder Bremen, Sancho finally managed to end his drought, and it was quite a nice goal too. Not every Man Utd flop playing in that game had a good time, though.

Sancho scores, Sabitzer sees red

Sancho beat his man with a nice burst of pace before calmly slotting the ball past Werder goalkeeper Michael Zetterer. The 23-year-old's goal proved to be the winner after Donyell Malen - a player Man Utd will regret not signing in January - opened the scoring with a strange bicycle kick that somehow nutmegged the keeper.

Despite Justin Njinmah, who ironically had spent the last season on loan at Dortmund, scoring, BVB managed to survive, with Sancho's goal ultimately proving crucial. Their task was, however, made infinitely harder by a forgotten Man Utd man: Marcel Sabitzer.

The Austrian midfielder got himself sent off in first-half stoppage time and didn't even protest the red card, much to the bemusement of Dortmund fans. The 29-year-old has been hit and miss for the Black and Yellow so far just as he had been on loan at Man Utd.

Youngster Isak Hansen-Aarøen, who was once billed as the next Martin Odegaard, was an unused substitute for Bremen. The 19-year-old joined the Bundesliga giants from Man Utd in January but has yet to feature for his new side.

As for Sancho, the Red Devils will certainly be hoping that he can now build on his first goal so that his value can recover ahead of the summer transfer window. The winger's Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) has dropped by more than €70 million since joining Man Utd.
