Fabrizio Romano has poured cold water on the links between Marcus Rashford and PSG.

The Manchester United star has been the subject of intense speculation in recent weeks. With Kylian Mbappe on his way to Real Madrid, PSG have reportedly earmarked Rashford as a potential replacement.

Some, like Wayne Rooney, believe that the 26-year-old could use a change of scenery after what has been an underwhelming season, with Rashford notching just seven goals and six assists in 34 games so far.

The rumours swirling around Rashford were also stoked by his behaviour off the pitch after the Man Utd homegrown was absent from his side's FA Cup clash with Newport County off the back of a tequila-fuelled bender in Belfast in January.

With links to PSG recently resurfacing, FootballTransfers explained that a move to the French capital wouldn't make sense from the Parisians' point of view and that the rumours were likely spread by the player's entourage to keep his profile up. Now, Fabrizio Romano has delivered a major update on the situation.

Rashford won't sign for PSG

Speaking on his YouTube channel, the Italian transfer expert said of Rashford: "Important to clarify something on Marcus Rashford. Many questions coming about PSG. These rumours on PSG - big, big for Marcus Rashford. [But] I'm not aware of that, guys."

"PSG appreciate Rashford as many other players, but Marcus Rashford is the player they really wanted two years ago, Man Utd said no, Erik ten Hag said no. Today, Ten Hag confirmed again in [his] press conference that he wants to continue with Marcus Rashford as [a] crucial part of his project."

"So, at the moment, there are no negotiations ongoing, no bid from PSG. The situation remains quiet around Marcus Rashford. Full focus on Man Utd and so we are not at the stage to call that a proper negotiation between Rashford or United and PSG."
