Manchester United and Tottenham are reportedly frustrated with Sevilla for their handling of Hannibal Mejbri and Alejo Veliz, respectively.

Sevilla, who are battling to avoid relegation from La Liga, decided to sign the two young players on loan in January.

And, they must have pledged to give them first team football, otherwise United and Spurs would not have agreed to the deals.

However, Mejbri has made just one start for the Andalusian club, in a 3-2 win over Real Sociedad, and has only made three more appearances as a substitute.

As for Veliz, he is yet to start a game in Seville, and has also came off the bench three times - for a combined 23 minutes of action.

As a result, the two Premier League clubs are "angered" by their respective situations, according to AS.

Both players will return to their clubs in the summer, and will probably be sent on loan to other clubs ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Sevilla do hold a €20 million option to sign Mejbri from the Red Devils on a permanent basis but that seems highly unlikely.

Why is Hannibal Mejbri not playing for Sevilla?

Fabrizio Romano has previously explained why Mejbri is struggling for playing time at Sevilla, despite being a talented player.

"We know it’s not been an easy time for Hannibal Mejbri since he left United to go on loan to Sevilla," Romano told CaughtOffside.

"Many fans have been asking me about why Hannibal hasn’t played much, and the reality is that Sevilla are in trouble, it’s a difficult season for them so the manager prefers to play experienced players as there’s pressure; that’s why it is not easy for young players.”

“I think it’s normal, it happens when a club is in a difficult situation. Hannibal will fight to find more space in the next weeks, he remains committed.”
