Surprise Ramsdale replacement spotted in Arsenal training
17-year-old goalkeeper Lucas Martin Nygaard has been trialling with Arsenal recently, according to Danish media.
The teenager is a free agent after leaving Nordsjaelland at the beginning of the year and has been keeping fit with Lyngby in his native Denmark. A highly-rated youngster, Nygaard made the squad of his country's U18s during the recent international break. This, according to Tipsbladet, caused a stir as he is without a club.
The shot-stopper is certainly an intriguing prospect because despite staying with middling Lyngby, who hope to sign him, there are bigger fish circling. According to the above-mentioned outlet, Nygaard has been trialling with Arsenal and PSG in recent times, though it is not yet clear where exactly his future lies.

His national team coach, Lasse Stensgaard, is certainly full of praise for the potentially soon-to-be Arsenal shot-stopper. "He is a real winner and he will do everything he can to win. He trains insanely well and gives his all on the pitch," he told the Danish outlet.
Ramsdale replacement?
Arsenal, of course, could soon be in the market for a new number two. Aaron Ramsdale is keen to leave the club after being supplanted by Brentford loanee David Raya this season, with the Spaniard's stint set to become permanent at the end of the campaign.
Newcastle are the latest side to be linked with a move for the Gunners' former number one, with Magpies boss Eddie Howe reportedly keen to reunite with his former Bournemouth standout.

It would certainly be a surprise if Arsenal were to replace Ramsdale with a 17-year-old, but Martin evidently has potential. It is, however, more likely that he would initially join the academy setup if he were to sign for the north London giants.
