Arsenal have already taken a potential Aaron Ramsdale replacement on trial according to a report in Denmark.

Ramsdale has been displaced as Arsenal's No.1 by David Raya this season, and with the Spaniard's loan deal set to be made permanent for £27 million this summer, his North London future already looked bleak.

The England international has made 11 appearances in all competitions this season, and it is understood Mikel Arteta would be content to keep him around as Raya's deputy, but Rasmdale wants more, and now another goalkeeper is being sought.

To that end, Denmark's U18 goalkeeper Lucas Martin has been at the Sobha Realty Training Centre on trial - although the Gunners face competition from Paris Saint-Germain for his signature.

Arsenal and PSG trials

"Tipsbladet can now confirm that [Martin] has trained with big clubs Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain this year," writes the Danish sports magazine's Jacob Quvang. "Lucas Martin Nygaard has the cards in his hand, as he is without a club, which also gives him the freedom to do what he wants."

Martin, as he is known, left FC Nordsjælland under freedom of contract at the start of the year, and has been training with Lyngby to keep fit. They reportedly want to sign him permanently, but have little chance.

Arsenal might prove a better destination for him than PSG. His English is better than his French, while Paris have two No.1s of their own on their books in Gigio Donnarumma and Keylor Navas, with Arnau Tenas also emerging.

The path to first-team football will be clearer at Arsenal if Ramsdale leaves, which he is likely to. Chelsea, Newcastle and Wolves are among the clubs to have been linked with the former Sheffield United shot-stopper.

Ramsdale is valued at €29.2 million by FootballTransfers' in-house algorithm, so the Gunners can expect a healthy fee as they looks to bolster their squad this summer.
