Romano drops HUGE update on Arsenal's Isak interest
Arsenal believe that Alexander Isak would be a good fit for them, but a summer move appears unlikely, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Newcastle sharpshooter has been in the news a lot in recent weeks. His impressive form has rekindled links to some of England's biggest clubs and the Magpies' Financial Fair Play issues have only further stoked the speculation.
It is thought that Newcastle will have to make at least one major sale this summer and Isak could be one of the candidates to depart. However, the Swedish striker recently sought to squash the persistent speculation by insisting that his future lies in England's Northeast.

"Of course I want to be here in the future," he told inews. “I came here for the project. I absolutely love playing here, I really feel at home. I want to finish this season in a good way for me and the team."
One of the sides continuously linked with the 24-year-old are Arsenal and the Gunners are in the market for a prolific number nine this summer. While Viktor Gyokeres is the priority target - and Arsenal are his priority - the links with the north London giants refuse to go away.
Isak to Arsenal?
Now, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Arsenal's interest in Isak, admitting that the Gunners greatly admire him but also revealing that a summer move is unlikely. "Alexander Isak is another Newcastle player attracting interest, and Arsenal have always appreciated him, even when he was at Real Sociedad," he told CaughtOffside.
"They’ve been scouting him for a while and he’s considered a really talented striker, and with the style they have I think he’s appreciated as a good fit for that style. “However, I’m not aware of any direct contacts or negotiations for Arsenal to sign Isak, so it’s not something concrete at this point."

"I also don’t see Newcastle selling two or three important players – I think they will have to make a decision on who is the one to leave the club. And with Arsenal, they have multiple candidates who could come in up front, with Viktor Gyokeres one of the names on their list, as well as others, while a deal for Isak won’t be easy.”
