Benjamin Sesko is expected to leave RB Leipzig this summer, according to a report.

The Slovenian is one of the most highly-rated up-and-coming centre-forwards in Europe. While comparisons to Erling Haaland in his earlier years were evidently exaggerated and premature, Sesko is nevertheless a brilliant prospect.

Despite not always being a guaranteed starter, particularly early on in the season, the 20-year-old has netted a respectable 13 goals so far this campaign. Last summer, Leipzig had managed to beat high-profile competition to acquire him from sister club RB Salzburg.

However, in order to convince him to head to the Bundesliga, the Red Bulls had to make concessions. Leipzig had to agree to a relatively affordable €50 million release clause for the youngster, which means that he will be in demand again this summer.

In fact, Sesko is expected to depart Saxony's largest city in the coming months.

Sesko to leave

At least that's according to TEAMtalk, which claims that there is an expectation that the Slovenian will be on the move this year. The outlet also confirms FootballTransfers' exclusive reporting from January that Newcastle greatly admire Sesko.

The likes of Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelsea have also been linked with the Leipzig sharpshooter. He is, however, not a top target for any of them. Arsenal are focusing their attention on Viktor Gyokeres, while Chelsea are keen on Victor Osimhen.

Man Utd, meanwhile, appear to be working on a deal for Ivan Toney, though there are some major questions marks hanging over this potential move. There could also be viable Premier League alternatives for the Red Devils.

This state of affairs could leave Newcastle with a relatively free run at Sesko, though much will depend on their Financial Fair Play situation. AC Milan have also previously been said to be keen on the youngster as they will look to replace Olivier Giroud this summer.
