The Gunners thrashed the Blues 5-0 at the Emirates on Tuesday evening, with former Chelsea player Kai Havertz scoring two of the goals.

The administrator running Chelsea’s official account on Twitter was updating followers live of the key actions during the game.

But while the admin named Ben White as the goalscorer of Arsenal’s second and fifth goals, they named no goalscorer when tweeting that the Gunners had scored a third and fourth.

As the below tweet demonstrates, it was simply tweeted that there had been a ‘Goal to the Gunners’ for the third goal, and a ‘Goal to Arsenal’ for the fourth goal.

This did not go unnoticed on social media, with Arsenal fans and neutrals mocking the Chelsea admin’s unprofessionalism and pettiness.

Havertz to Arsenal

Arsenal signed Havertz from Chelsea for €75 million (£65m) last summer. That made him the third most expensive signing in the club’s history.

In the process he also became Arsenal’s highest-paid player. He earns an annual salary of €17m per season (£14.5m), more than Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and William Saliba.

Arteta’s move for Havertz came as something of a surprise as the Germany international had largely struggled during his time in the Premier League with Chelsea.

Havertz made a poor start to his Arsenal career in which he had no goal contributions - goals or assists - in his first nine games and only two in his first 19.

But Havertz has been in sensational form recently and this has even led to suggestions that Arsenal should not sign a top-class natural number nine this summer as had initially been the plan.

Indeed, according to ESPN, no player in the Premier League has more goal involvements than Havertz has for Arsenal in the last two months.

Since February 17, Havertz has an impressive seven goals and four assists in all competitions.

This has proved crucial in leading Arsenal to the top of the Premier League an in the race for a first title victory for the Gunners in 20 years.
