There has been a distinct lack of improvement on last season, and time is running out for the Argentine to turn things around.

There are six league games remaining for Chelsea to climb into the Europa League places - surely the bare minimum for Pochettino to keep his job.

Pochettino will claim that he needs a long time to get things right at Stamford Bridge, but Crystal Palace are proof that change can happen quickly.

Palace replaced Roy Hodgson with ex-Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner on 19 February 2024.

And, the Austrian beat Burnley 3-0 in his first game in charge, whereas Chelsea drew 2-2 with The Clarets shortly after.

Palace have also beaten West Ham, Newcastle and Liverpool - ending their 29-game unbeaten run at Anfield - since Glasner took over.

It's not like The Eagles are grinding out results, either, as they are actually playing an attractive brand of football.

With Glasner coaching impressive performances out of the likes of Jean-Phillipe Mateta, Jordan Ayew and Will Hughes, Pochettino has no excuse not to be doing better with the players at his disposal.

Nobody expects Chelsea to be competing for the league title in their current state, but should they be higher than ninth in the table? Absolutely.
