Tottenham Hotspur are keen on Serie A youngster Patrick Dorgu, but his support of Chelsea may prove to be an issue.

The Danish youth international has been one of Italian football's biggest breakout stars this season. The 19-year-old was plucked from Nordsjaelland's U19s by Lecce last summer and has gone on to become a regular fixture despite his lack of senior experience.

Such has been Dorgu's impact that he was already touted for a move in the winter - just six months after arriving at Lecce - but his side's sporting director eventually shut down any speculation, though he did admit that it would be difficult to keep hold of the left-back long-term.

"He gets a lot of people talking about him," Stefano Trinchera told PianeteLecce in November, "but the longer we have him, the more his value increases. He will stay with us in January, but it is too early to make further considerations about his future. Dorgu is currently on the lips of several big clubs, not only in Serie A but also among the best European clubs."

Chelsea still keen?

Back in November, it was claimed by Danish outlet Tipsbladet that Tottenham were among the sides keen on the youngster and Tuttsport now asserts that the north London side are in talks with Dorgu ahead of the summer window.

Intriguingly, the player recently revealed that he supports Chelsea. While that in and of itself should not be a major issue, it could become one if the Blues were to reignite their interest in the youngster.

Chelsea were among the clubs who were said to be monitoring Dorgu ahead of January, though it is unclear whether the Blues are still in the mix for him. However, considering the fact that they will look to bolster their left-back department this summer, it is difficult to imagine that they have dropped their interest.

"I have been a Chelsea fan for many years, so of course it is clear that [joining them] is a dream," Dorgu told Flashscore in March. "That's not to say I can't switch to other teams in the Premier League, but even if things aren't going so well for them right now, they are my team."

The 19-year-old will reportedly be available for around €20 million this summer.
