Jeremie Frimpong makes SURPRISE future decision amid fresh Liverpool links
Jeremie Frimpong would like a longer stay at Bayer Leverkusen, according to German media.
The right-back has made a big impression this season at the German club, who are heading for the first Bundesliga title in their history. The Dutchman recently signed a contract until 2028, which includes a release clause of €40 million.
Successful coach Xabi Alonso has already committed his future to the club from Leverkusen and Frimpong also seems to be leaning towards a longer stay. According to BILD, the wing-back feels comfortable at the club and with the Spanish coach.

This is a surprising U-turn from the two-time Dutch international as he had hitherto been expected to depart the Werkself this summer after failing to get a move last year. The 23-year-old has drawn interest from the likes of Arsenal and, Real Madrid, Man Utd, while Liverpool are now also once again linked with him.
Leverkusen sales
In lieu of Frimpong's departure, several other players could leave Leverkusen this summer. One of them will be a familiar face to Man Utd fans.
Timothy Fosu-Mensah, it seems, is heading towards the exit. The right-back has an expiring contract at the BayArena and the club management does not intend to offer him fresh terms. The three-time Dutch international was signed from Man Utd in January 2021 for €1.7m.

Partly due to injuries, he has only played 936 minutes, spread over 30 games. This season, the 26-year-old Ajax youth product has played less than a minute. Additionally, Adam Hlozek is also slated to be sold.
The 21-year-old Czech wonderkid was acquired from Sparta Prague for €13m in the summer of 2022 but has not yet been convincing. After 76 matches, his tally stands at 14 goals and eight assists. Francisco Trincão, who can be signed for €15m from Sporting CP, is viewed as a possible replacement.
