Man Utd transfer latest: Romano provides Branthwaite, Bremer & Todibo update
Fabrizio Romano has provided a major update on Manchester United's defensive targets for the summer.
The Red Devils are keen to overhaul their backline. Despite their recent poor results, it seems that Erik ten Hag will survive as Man Utd boss and he will be given money to spend in the summer by new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, though the Dutchman will have less of a direct influence on transfers.
Upgrading the defence has been the head coach's priority for some time and it seems the upcoming transfer window will at last see him given the opportunity to do so. A host of centre-backs have been linked with the Red Devils since last summer, chief among them Jarrad Branthwaite, Gleison Bremer and Jean-Clair Todibo.

Romano provides update
Fabrizio Romano has provided the latest on Man Utd's pursuit of defensive reinforcements while speaking to The United Stand. "For Todibo, I'm told the price tag will be around £40 million. This is what Nice are expecting for Jean-Clair Todibo in the summer transfer window."
"Branthwaite remains one of the players they appreciate...and then I think there will be other names too. I think it's not just these two. There are other players they are following. For example, Man Utd are well informed on the release clause of Gleison Bremer at Juventus."
"The release clause is going to be valid in the summer of 2025, but from what I'm hearing there is a gentlemen's agreement between the agents of Bremer and Juventus in case this summer a proposal in the region of the release clause - so something around €60m-€65m - is going to arrive at Juventus; in that case, Juventus could be prepared to discuss and let the player go."

"There are many possibilities for that position. We still have to include also Antonio Silva from Benfica, probably the most expensive option at this point. So this is why it's going to be complicated. But he's a player that Man Utd have been scouting for a long time."
