Sancho agrees to TIP THE BALANCE in transfer deal that suits everyone

Manchester United have been told Borussia Dortmund’s maximum price for Jadon Sancho, with the winger set to make a transfer possible.

Sancho has spent much of the season in exile at Man Utd after a fallout with manager Erik ten Hag and has been loaned to Dortmund for the second half of the season.

After a slow start at his old club, the England winger is rediscovering some of his best form, raising hopes at Old Trafford that he could be offloaded on a permanent basis.

But while Dortmund are interested in signing Sancho, with the winger having recorded two goals and two assists in 11 games, the price of their transfer offer is unlikely to be one that will impress Man Utd.

According to Sport Bild, Dortmund will only offer €30 million for the player.

United would doubtless have hoped for more given they signed Sancho for €85 million from Dortmund in 2021, yet the circumstances mean that this is a deal they may find themselves accepting.

There are few other options on the table for the 24-year-old. His sizeable wage demands prevented him from finding a club during the January transfer window and will be a major impediment in the summer, too.

Sancho, though, is willing to take a wage cut to join Dortmund – an action that is said could “tip the balance” in favour of getting a deal concluded.

Dortmund to pay a fair price

While Dortmund’s €30m offer may sound small, it is in line with Sancho’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV), which has steadily fallen since he joined Man Utd. According to the FootballTransfers algorithm, he is presently worth just short of that figure.

Sancho’s maximum ETV was €109m, which he hit as he joined the Old Trafford club.

He has failed to find anything like that form since moving to the Premier League giants, managing just 12 goals in 82 outings for Man Utd, where his attitude and commitment were questioned.

Sancho, though, may yet be retained by the Red Devils. Ten Hag’s potential exit in the summer could transform his fortunes, particularly with Jason Wilcox, who he worked with at Manchester City, set to arrive in a revamped backroom staff.
