Man Utd handed MASSIVE Joao Gomes boost as Arsenal get Romano update
Fabrizio Romano has dismissed Arsenal's links with Joao Gomes.
The Wolves midfielder has become the subject of intense speculation in recent weeks. Encouraging performances for Gary O'Neil's overperforming side have put the Brazilian on the radar of some of England's biggest clubs.
Man Utd have been said to be hot on his trail for some time already. In March, FootballTransfers was able to reveal the approximate price range of Gomes. Earlier this week, we were able to provide more details on the situation, confirming Man Utd's concrete interest and also reporting that the Red Devils had reignited their pursuit of Fluminense star Andre.

As part of that report, we also revealed that, contrary to some claims, Arsenal are not in contact with Gomes and that Man Utd are yet to table a real proposal for either player. Fabrizio Romano has now echoed this reporting on Arsenal's supposed interest in Gomes.
Romano on Joao Gomes
Writing in his Daily Briefing, Romano quashed the links between Arsenal and Gomes, insisting that nothing in the way of an offer has as yet materialised. "Another player being linked with Arsenal by some outlets is Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes," Romano began.
"My understanding remains that there’s still nothing concrete for Gomes at the moment. Every week there’s a new team being linked in the media, almost all of them… he’s being scouted by a number of top clubs as I’ve mentioned before, but nothing has entered into concrete stages yet."

Coach Gary O'Neil recently said of Gomes: "He loves it here, I speak to him all the time and he's unbelievably happy. I’m very confident Joao Gomes will be here next year. He loves it here and is a big part of what we’re trying to achieve. There’s no real fear on my part about losing Joao. I’m really comfortable with the situation and I’m looking forward to working with him next season.”
