Man Utd can stop Liverpool signing a SECOND Mac Allister with Real Madrid swoop
Manchester United missed out on Alexis Mac Allister when Liverpool signed him from Brighton last summer, and with the Anfield club linked with the World Cup winner’s clone, the Old Trafford side should seriously consider hijacking the deal.
Mac Allister has proven to be outstanding since leaving the south coast for Merseyside, providing a highlight moment in midweek when he crashed in a thunderbolt from range against Sheffield United with a strike that more than a little reminiscent of Steven Gerrard.
The Argentina international had the opportunity to sign for Man Utd but instead opted for Liverpool, despite their lack of Champions League football, because he felt they offered better title-winning credentials.

“Since I won the World Cup, I said that I want to win more trophies and I think that this club will help me to do that,” Mac Allister told Liverpool’s official website. “That’s the aim and when you are in a big club like this one you have to win trophies. So, that’s what I want.”
He has been vindicated by the respective performances of the clubs this season, but that has not stopped Liverpool being linked with another player in his image in the form of Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde.
El Debate claims that the Reds are willing to pay €150 million for Valverde, and while that news should be taken with a pinch of salt, it should serve as a reminder to Man Utd that there are alternatives out there.

Valverde a dream signing for Man Utd
Valverde would make a superb addition to a Man Utd midfield that needs an overhaul this summer, with Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and perhaps more on their way out.
The 25-year-old Uruguayan would instantly arrive at Old Trafford and become the Red Devils’ best player, according to data analytics experts SciSports.
Indeed, the Netherlands-based company believe he is a Mac Allister-level player and has the capability to match the Liverpool man stride for stride in terms of his development.
Perhaps most exciting of all for Man Utd is that they are one of five clubs SciSports suggest are better for Valverde than Real Madrid.
In particular, the raft of first-team opportunities that he would get should be appealing to him, even if the development prospects are not as strong.
Prising him away from Real Madrid would be a major test for Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Co, who will have to make him Man Utd’s most expensive player ever to sign him.
