Man Utd still keen on RECORD-BREAKER Guirassy? The state of play
Manchester United are still interested in Serhou Guirassy, according to German media.
The VfB Stuttgart striker has enjoyed an absolutely spectacular season and would be a credible challenger to Harry Kane for the Bundesliga Golden Boot had he not missed a chunk of the campaign due to injury and the Africa Cup of Nations.
Stuttgart have been this season's surprise package under Sebastian Hoeness and are on course to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in well over a decade. Guirassy's unbelievable 25 goals in 23 games (27 in 25 in all competitions) have been one of the biggest factors behind the Swabians' success.

His stunning goalscoring record this term, which saw him become the first Stuttgart player to hit 25 goals in a Bundesliga season at the weekend, has, of course, made the Guinean a sought-after commodity, only multiplied by the fact that he can be had for a bargain.
In January, Guirassy was available for just €17.5 million due to a release clause, which saw clubs like Man Utd and AC Milan linked with him, but the striker made it clear that he wanted to see out this historic campaign with Stuttgart. In the summer, it could be a different story.
Guirassy still in-demand
According to BILD, Guirassy is still very much being looked at by bigger European clubs, chief among them Man Utd. It is asserted that the Red Devils are still keeping tabs on the 28-year-old, with West Ham also in the mix.
In the summer, Guirassy will be available for €20m and it has previously been claimed that a move to the Premier League appeals to the sharpshooter. The impending qualification for the Champions League, however, could be a godsend for Stuttgart as it is something neither West Ham nor potentially even Man Utd will be able to offer next season.

Additionally, cash-strapped Stuttgart will receive almost €20m for getting into Europe's premier competition, meaning that they will have the financial means to put a competitive contract offer on the table for Guirassy, getting rid of his pesky release clause in the process. At this stage, his future is still open.
