Liverpool fans pick their DREAM Jurgen Klopp replacement

Liverpool fans have chosen their preferred replacement for Jurgen Klopp following Xabi Alonso’s commitment to Bayer Leverkusen.

The former Reds midfielder was considered to be the favourite to take over at Anfield this summer, but he has revealed that he will remain at Leverkusen until the summer of 2025 at least.

Bayern Munich were also interested in appointing Alonso, as Thomas Tuchel’s successor, however they were unable to convince him to leave his current post at Leverkusen.

The Spaniard has masterminded one of the all-time great seasons in 2023-24, with his Leverkusen side into the quarter-finals of the Europa League, the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal and leading the Bundesliga title race. Furthermore, they are incredibly unbeaten in all competitions this campaign.

As a result, he is eager to remain at the club and has therefore snubbed interest from both Liverpool and Bayern.

Who do Liverpool fans want as Jurgen Klopp’s replacement?

With Klopp leaving this summer, after announcing his departure earlier this year, Liverpool need to find a replacement and there are currently two names leading the race to become the next Reds boss: Ruben Amorim and Roberto De Zerbi.

Julian Nagelsmann has also been linked with the job as there is a chance he leaves his role as Germany head coach following this summer’s European Championship.

However, Amorim is the clear favourite among Liverpool supporters.

Over 10,000 fans responded to a poll posted by Anfield Watch and the current Sporting CP boss amassed 64.7% of the votes.

Nagelsmann was a distant second with only 14.7% of voters wanting him in the hotseat at Anfield, while De Zerbi was selected by just 7.8%. ‘None of the above’ was chosen by 12.8% of Liverpool fans.

As a result, it’s clear that Amorim is the man that Liverpool fans want to replace Klopp once the 2023-24 season concludes.
