The Belgian has established himself as one of the Toffees' star players since arriving from Lille in 2022. The 22-year-old was a vital cog in Sean Dyche's midfield in the bygone season and his performances have earned him rave reviews.

A physical presence but also good on the ball, Onana has been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Man Utd in recent months, while Barcelona also admire the former Hamburger SV youngster, though the Blaugrana know that they can't afford him.

Speculation surrounding the player's future has been rampant for some time. Arsenal are looking to add another midfielder to their already strong set-up and have just reportedly been snubbed by top target Martin Zubimendi. Man Utd, meanwhile, are set for a massive overhaul under Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Casemiro looks likely to depart.

Onana wants move

Now, Onana has admitted that he would love to use the upcoming Euro 2024 in Germany as a 'stage' to put himself in the shop window. The 22-year-old is set to play a big role for Domenico Tedesco's side and is keen to impress.

"At previous tournaments, you have seen that the players who did well make the step up to the top clubs. That's something I strive for," Onana told Het Laatste Nieuws. "I feel like presenting myself to the European top and showing what I have to offer. This European Championship is a stage."

Regardless of whether he has a good tournament or not, it is expected that there will be concrete interest in his services this summer. It is also unsurprising that Onana would be keen to leave Everton given how their financial issues have hamstrung them in recent times. Indeed, they may have no choice but to sell the midfielder this summer.
