Arsenal will only sign Bruno Guimaraes on ONE condition but face Man City problem
Bruno Guimaraes is still a player Arsenal are interested in ahead of the summer transfer window, but the Emirates club face stiff competition from Manchester City for the Newcastle star.
Although Arsenal want to sign Bruno in order to bolster the centre of their midfield, where Thomas Partey will depart, Mikel Arteta’s club do not want the Brazil international at any cost.
Indeed, Ben Jacobs has revealed that the Gunners will only complete a deal for the 26-year-old if they do not have to match his €117.5 million (£100m) release clause. This would eclipse the price the Emirates side paid to sign Declan Rice from West Ham last summer in what was their most expensive transfer ever.
“Arsenal have no plans to trigger the clause. They will only consider a move if the price drops. Martin Zubimendi remains a more concrete possibility,” Jacobs explained on X.

Man City step up Bruno interest
Perhaps the greatest threat to Arsenal signing Bruno Guimaraes, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €55.7m, comes as Manchester City step up their interest in a player who is under contract with Newcastle until 2028.
“Manchester City are still exploring a move for Bruno Guimarães having made contact with the player's camp,” he confirms.

“Guimaraes has a £100m release clause valid only until the final week in June.
“Guimaraes has given every indication he’s happy at Newcastle, but an exit can’t be discounted due to the clause.”
Jacobs also revealed that PSG have dropped out of the race to sign the Newcastle star because they are focusing on signing either Bernardo Silva from Man City – a deal that would be easier if Pep Guardiola’s side capture Guimaraes – or Barcelona’s Gavi.
With Man City apparently more willing to match Bruno Guimaraes’ release clause, they are ahead of Arsenal currently in the race for a player with seven Premier League goals and eight assists in 37 outings this season.
