Arsenal have received an enquiry from Fenerbahce over the availability of midfielder Thomas Partey, FootballTransfers can exclusively revealed.

The interest in Partey follows a recommendation from Ghana teammate and friend Alexander Djiku, who has told the Super Lig about the qualities of the 30-year-old midfielder.

The midfielder has faced numerous challenges since joining Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in October 2020, enduring a string of injuries.

However, the news that Super Lig giants Fenerbahce are extending an opportunity for him to rejuvenate his career could be a deal that suits everyone involved.

Partey has seen a decrease in his playing time at Arsenal this season, leading to growing frustration with his role at the Emirates.

Conversely, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is also becoming increasingly irritated with the lack of availability from his player, especially considering Partey's status as one of the highest earners at the club, with his wages reportedly nearing €235,000 (£200,000) per week.

The Ghana star has, however, started the last four Premier League matches for the Gunners, including vital fixtures against Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United.

When is Thomas Partey's Arsenal contract up?

Nevertheless, with Arteta seeking to upgrade his midfield options, Partey, who has just a year left to run on his contract, could be allowed to depart in the summer for the right price.

With Arsenal seeking to recoup as much of their €50 million investment in the player, it may take a bid of around €29m to prise the player away from the Emirates – a deal that could prove difficult for Fenerbahce to strike given their record signing stands at the €15m they spent on Cengiz Under last summer.

There could be scope for negotiation, though. Partey is unlikely to sign a new contract with the Gunners at this point, and with the prospect of losing him on a free transfer in 12 months looming, Arsenal’s price may be driven down.
