William Gallas says that Bruno Fernandes would be a quality signing for Chelsea were he to make a shock transfer to the club this summer.

Bruno has hit the headlines in recent hours after he admitted that he is considering his future at United at the end of the season.

“If you want me to be very honest, if I have to think about not continuing [at United], it won’t be until after the EUROs...” Bruno said on Portuguese TV on Wednesday.

Just like his Man Utd teammate Marcus Rashford, Bruno has been linked with a move to Chelsea - and this is a double deal that former Blues defender Gallas is in favour of.

What did Gallas say?

“Both Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes could be good options for Chelsea,” Gallas told Gambling Zone.

“Both are quality players. Bruno could definitely be the kind of midfielder who has the quality to play in the number ten role where Chelsea lack strength.

“Chelsea are a team of young players and Bruno Fernandes has the leadership qualities to get through certain periods. He’d be a good signing if the rumours are true.”

Chelsea are set for another busy summer transfer market after another dismal season.

The Blues have endured another trophyless season and have no chance of qualifying as they are down in ninth place.

Despite spending over €1 billion on transfers since 2022, owner Todd Boehly will sanction another big spending market.

It is believed, though, that there will be more of a focus this summer on experienced players.

Bruno turns 30 this year and certainly fits into that category. He has grown frustrated at United for their own lack of success in recent years, while this could be the last chance for United to get a decent fee for the attacking midfielder.

Chelsea will likely have to sell players first before moving for the likes of Bruno and Rashford as they are under Financial Fair Play scrutiny.
