Chelsea are reportedly determined to sign Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise and will push to purchase the Frenchman regardless of who replaces Mauricio Pochettino this summer.

Olise, 22, is one of the most highly sought-after players in the Premier League and he is being chased by the likes of Manchester United, Newcastle United and Aston Villa ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Chelsea are also interested in the former Reading star and are “desperate” to sign him after missing out last summer, according to The Mirror.

The Blues were heavily linked with Olise in 2023, but the France U21 international snubbed a move to Stamford Bridge in favour of signing a contract extension at Crystal Palace.

However, Olise remains one of Chelsea’s key transfer targets, despite the plethora of left-footed right wingers currently on their books.

Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, Omari Hutchinson, Angelo Gabriel and Diego Moreira have all joined Chelsea since Clearlake Capital took over in 2022, while Kendry Paez will arrive in 2025 and a deal to sign Estevao Willian has almost been completed.

Regardless, Chelsea want to sign Olise no matter who is appointed as their new manager.

In addition, FootballTransfers understand that Man Utd are a leading contender in the race to sign Olise, despite failing to qualify for the Champions League, and will battle Chelsea for his signature this summer.

Will Michael Olise stay at Crystal Palace?

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner was recently asked whether Olise and Eberechi Eze will remain at the club despite significant transfer interest.

“I am very confident they’ll be here because they have contracts and no one has told me they’ll be leaving,” he replied (as per The Mirror).

“I think what we have done is that we have shown them that Crystal Palace have ambition.

“We have shown them how we want to play, which path we want to go down, which journey we want to ride together. They can show their strengths, qualities and personalities and express themselves.

“They fit together. This is what we can do. If something else happens, then this is football. But Crystal Palace will be able to build a new Selhurst - because it will cost a lot of money.”

Olise scored 10 goals and provided six assists in just 19 Premier League appearances during the 2023-24 season.
