Man Utd & Liverpool rocked by surprise transfer twist
Nice star Khephren Thuram may not be on the move this summer after all, according to French media.
The French midfielder has endured a difficult season. Nice enjoyed a strong start to the season but ultimately collapsed and ended up slipping down to fifth in the table.
While some players of the INEOS-owned club impressed in 2023/24, Thuram never really managed to fully come to grips with Francesco Farioli's system. The rigid nature of the Italian's approach hampered the 23-year-old's creativity and the younger son of Lillian Thuram rarely managed to be the kind of standout performer he had been the season prior.

In light of this, it has been widely reported that Thuram will leave the club this summer after opting to stay despite significant interest last term. A change of scenery is needed, it has been claimed, and due to his unimpressive form and expiring contract, he may be available for as little as €15 million.
Thuram to stay?
Now, however, a fresh report has revealed that a completely different course of action could be pursued by the player. With Farioli having left Nice to take charge of Ajax, Thuram could again choose to stay and run down his contract before leaving for nothing next year, according to Nice-Matin.
While long-time admirers Man Utd and Liverpool continue to be tentatively linked with the Frenchman, the sides with a truly concrete interest in his services are thought to be less illustrious following his poor season.

So, instead of leaving for the sake of making a transfer this summer, Thuram could remain and attempt to reignite the attraction from Europe's elite with a good 2024/25 campaign.
Moreover, the midfielder has the same agent as his brother, Marcus, who advised him to do exactly that at Borussia Mönchengladbach. The attacker ran down his contract in Germany and then joined Inter on a free transfer last summer after following up on a shoddy campaign with an impressive one.
