PSG ruin Barcelona's dream transfer in Mbappe-fuelled spending spree
PSG are targeting at least three big-name international stars in their bid to replace Kylian Mbappe.
The Frenchman will depart Paris this summer after seven very successful years. Though not officially announced yet, it is football's worst-kept secret that Mbappe is heading to Real Madrid.
This transfer, in turn, could have major consequences for Los Blancos' big rivals Barcelona. That is because two players PSG have identified as like-for-like replacements for the 25-year-old are also targets for the Catalans and the other, well, is a current Barca player!

According to a report from Spain, PSG are willing to pay Nico Williams' Athletic Club release clause, which amounts to €60 million, though some reports also speak of a figure in the region of €50m. The Spain international is one of European football's biggest prospects and the report goes so far as to claim that the Ligue 1 side have already sent a 'formal proposal.'
Barcelona consider Williams one of their top summer targets, but their financial crisis means that a deal is difficult and perhaps even impossible. The 21-year-old, however, isn't the only one wanted by PSG and the Blaugrana.
PSG in for Kvaradona
Indeed, it is also claimed that PSG are ready to break the bank for Napoli superstar Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. One report goes so far as to suggest that the Parisians have already launched a €100m offer for the Georgian, while others speak of an initial proposal of €60m.
The latter won't be anywhere near enough to get Napoli to sell. The Serie A side don't want to lose Victor Osimhen and 'Kvaradona' in one summer and will do everything in their power to keep the winger. The 23-year-old has often been described as Barcelona's dream signing, but finances again mean that he won't be heading to Catalunya anytime soon.

The third player earmarked to be signed with the freed-up funds from Mbappe's departure is Barcelona midfielder Gavi. The Blaugrana naturally have no intention to entertain offers, according to Ben Jacobs. However, we simply don't know how desperate they could become in their bid to raise funds this summer.
Bruno Guimaraes is no longer considered a concrete target for the Ligue 1 champions despite their long-standing interest in the Newcastle star. Bernardo Silva is another name PSG have on their shortlist of midfield targets.
