Real Madrid are unwilling to break the bank on Leny Yoro, according to a report.

The French wonderkid is one of Europe's most sought-after commodities this summer due to his contract situation. Only tied down at Lille until next year, the Ligue 1 side will either have to sell or get the 18-year-old to extend his deal.

The prospects of the latter materialising look slim at this point, with Yoro already having established himself as one of the French top flight's best defenders and attracting interest from Europe's biggest sides.

Indeed, Real Madrid, PSG, Chelsea and Man Utd have all been linked with the teenage sensation, who has been a regular starter for Lille since age 17. In recent weeks, it was claimed that Los Blancos were the side pushing the most to secure his signature, having made him a priority target in light of captain Nacho announcing his departure.

However, it seems that Real Madrid are now having second thoughts about pursuing a deal.

Real Madrid unwilling to spend big

Already reported last week and now confirmed by transfer expert Matteo Moretto, Real Madrid are not prepared to break the bank on a player who is out of contract in 2025. It is claimed that Los Blancos value Yoro at €40 million tops while Lille are demanding as much as €60m. This is, of course, good news for PSG and Yoro's English suitors.

“There’s Paris Saint-Germain and Premier League clubs interested that Real Madrid have as competition, and they don’t want to spend big money on Leny Yoro," Moretto told CaughtOffside. "At a ‘reasonable’ price they’d be happy to do business, but the truth is that Real Madrid likely to offer less than €40m for Yoro."

“No doubt Lille are asking a lot, but the economic side of the deal remains important for Real Madrid. They are not going to throw money out the window for a boy that, as brilliant as he is and even if Real Madrid are his priority, is out of contract in 2025. So it could be tricky.”
