Ratcliffe refuses to sack Ten Hag: Man Utd in internal chaos over new manager
Manchester United are in chaos as a decision has still not been taken on whether to sack Erik ten Hag at the end of the season or keep him for the 2024-25 campaign.
That is according to HITC, who report that internally no in Man Utd’s upper management is assuming the responsibility needed to make the decision to sack Ten Hag and hire a replacement.
It had been assumed that new Man Utd part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe would be the man who makes any decision to sack the manager and replace him.

But HITC claims that Ratcliffe believes that United’s new football department should be making that call.
Currently Dan Ashworth has still not been confirmed as Man Utd’s new sporting director, although his number two Jason Wilcox has arrived as technical director and will have talks with Ten Hag in the coming weeks.
HITC adds that Ten Hag also has no idea whether he will still be manager next season, such is the uncertainty over making a decision.

None of this is helping United’s final push this season as they aim for a top six finish and play the FA Cup final against Man City.
Gareth Southgate, Graham Potter, Roberto De Zerbi and Thomas Tuchel have all been linked as possible successors to Ten Hag.
Ten Hag record at Man Utd
Ten Hag joined Man Utd in the summer of 2022 and enjoyed a decent first season as he took the club back into the Champions League, won the League Cup and reached the FA Cup final.
However, the 2023-24 campaign has been a total disaster for Ten Hag. United have lost 12 of their 34 Premier League games and have a goal difference of +1. They have no chance of qualifying for the Champions League.
They went out of the League Cup early but worst of all were humiliated in the Champions League group stages.
Ten Hag has fallen out with a host of players during his time at the club, most notably Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho, while there has been scrutiny over his reported bad relationship with Marcus Rashford.
The Dutchman is expected to be sacked at the end of the season.
