According to Aksam, Okan Buruk’s contract as manager will be renewed for another two years once president Dursun Özbek is reelected.

As soon as that happens, Buruk will launch an official bid for Casemiro, who is seen as the perfect player to strengthen Galatasaray’s midfield.

The report adds that Casemiro will give the green light to the move as he would prefer to move to Turkey than to Saudi Arabia, where there is also interest.

Manchester United have put Casemiro up for sale after a dismal season, as they look to refresh their squad and offload ageing players on high wages.

Casemiro at Man Utd

Casemiro was arguably Man Utd’s signature move of the summer of 2022, as they splashed out over €70 million for the legendary midfielder from Real Madrid.

Some critics questioned paying such a large sum of money for a player who was already 30.

Now 32, he performed well for much of last season and he played a key role in them winning the Carabao Cup.

However, his form has fallen off badly this campaign for a Man Utd team that have endured a disastrous campaign.

Casemiro, who has struggled with injury this season, has at times looked like he no longer has the legs for the fast-paced Premier League.

He was heavily linked with a transfer away from the club in January, with Saudi Arabian teams interested in him.

In the end, Casemiro stayed but he seems certain to leave in the summer providing a club provides the money requested for a transfer fee and salary.

Casemiro is regarded as an all-time great at Real Madrid. He won everything in 10 years there after joining from Sao Paulo.

He claimed three La Liga titles, five Champions Leagues and made over 300 appearances.
