Romano makes Ten Hag guarantee as Man Utd sack decision nears
Fabrizio Romano insists that Manchester United are yet to contact any potential Erik ten Hag replacements despite admitting that he could be sacked after the FA Cup final.
The Dutchman remains under massive pressure. Despite reaching the FA Cup final and winning the last two Premier League games, Man Utd's season has been so bad that Erik ten Hag still potentially faces the axe.
Man Utd have finished the Premier League season in eighth and could miss out on Europe altogether unless they manage to beat newly-crowned national champions Man City at Wembley. If they miraculously manage to beat Pep Guardiola's side, the Red Devils will at least have Europe League football to show for their underwhelming season.

This is, of course, not good enough by Man Utd's standards. Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS camp will make sure that a season like the one just gone won't be repeated, yet the billionaire recently hinted that Ten Hag could stay on board this summer. However, according to Fabrizio Romano, a decision on the Dutchman's future will ultimately be impacted by the final.
Romano on Ten Hag
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romanos said of Ten Hag: "[The situation] is really open. The FA Cup final will be important for Erik ten Hag. It's obviously about the trophy, it's obviously about Europa League football, it's obviously about the prestige of the game for Man Utd, but it's also about the mentality."
"So Man Utd, in terms of the club, the board, the people at the club, want to see a proper performance by Man Utd. They know it's a difficult game...but they want to see the mentality, they want to see the performance, they want to see how is the reaction of the squad with Erik ten Hag in a dangerous situation."

"Because at the moment, the situation of Ten Hag remains completely open, it's a 50-50 situation...It's a crucial moment for Man Utd, it's a crucial moment for Erik ten Hag. In this case, we know that there are many rumours about candidates. Guys, I can guarantee to you that nothing is decided on Man Utd in terms of a new coach."
