Manchester United’s interest in Stade Rennais teenager Desire Doue is “strong”, according to Fabrizio Romano, but the Red Devils are set to face significant competition for his signature.
Doue, 18, is on Man Utd’s transfer shortlist ahead of the summer window, but he is also being monitored by a host of other top clubs.
According to The Daily Mail, Doue is wanted by Man Utd, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen.

Rennes reportedly want €40 million for the French youngster as they look to profit from another graduate of their excellent academy system.
Doue scored four goals and provided six assists in 43 appearances last season and Man Utd have named him as one of their key targets for the upcoming window. The Red Devils are also interested in Michael Olise, Amadou Onana and Jarrad Branthwaite as they look to begin a new era under INEOS’ reign.
Erik ten Hag may also be sacked despite his FA Cup final triumph, with Roberto De Zerbi, Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino among the Dutchman’s possible replacements.

What has Fabrizio Romano said?
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provided an update on Doue’s future to CaughtOffside. “Staying with United, we’ve seen them linked, along with many other clubs, with Rennes wonderkid Desire Doue, who is doing fantastic with his performances in Ligue 1,” he wrote.
“Honestly, though, I could mention six or seven clubs interested in Doue – interest is strong, but it’s really early. So we have to be patient on this one. For sure, interest is there from several countries as he’s considered a top, top talent.”
