Oliver Glasner believes that Crystal Palace's stunning end to the season may be enough to convince Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise to stay.

Between the Austrian taking charge of his first game on matchday 26 and the final game of the season on Sunday, only four teams recorded more points than Crystal Palace. Glasner's record so far at Selhurst Park makes for exciting reading: seven wins, three draws and three defeats.

Palace ultimately finished 10th, with Glasner comfortably steering them away from any relegation danger, but the fact that they were the fifth-best Premier League team in recent months could have massive implications for the club's summer transfer window.

Indeed, Glasner believes that Palace have shown enough ambition and promise to convince their key players to stay on board. The likes of Eberechi Eze, Michael Olise and Marc Guehi have all been linked with moves to bigger clubs for months, but the 49-year-old is trying his hardest to prevent a summer exodus.

Glasner bullish

Speaking after his side demolished Champions League-bound Aston Villa 5-0 on Sunday, Glasner said regarding the futures of Eze and Olise: “We showed them we have ambition, how we want to play, what pathway we want to go and which journey we want to ride together."

"They can all play a crucial part in it, show their qualities and strengths. They can express themselves and it fits together. This is what we can do. If something else happens, it’s part of football."

It is instructive to note that one of the clubs most prominently linked with the duo, and especially Olise, are Man Utd. The Red Devils finished the season just two spots ahead of Palace and their performances after Glasner's appointment were miserable, only good enough for 12th in the form table.

Just a few weeks ago, Palace comprehensively defeated Man Utd at Selhurst Park, running out comfortable 4-0 victors. It was a statement of intent on the part of Glasner's men and perhaps also a message to the likes of Olise and Eze that the grass - at least the one at Old Trafford - isn't greener.
