Real Madrid to trigger SECRET €70m clause in Liverpool star's contract
A sensational report in Argentina claims that Alexis Mac Allister is a target for Real Madrid and the Champions League finalists intend to activate a ‘secret’ €70 million release clause in the midfielder’s contract.
Mac Allister, 25, has been a revelation for Liverpool since completing a £35 million move from Brighton last summer.
He has established himself in the Reds’ midfield and arguably put his name in the frame for the Premier League’s signing of the season.
The World Cup-winning playmaker has played 45 times for the Merseysiders this term, scoring six goals, becoming a fan favourite at Anfield in the process.

Mac Allister is under contract with Liverpool until 2028 but now a report in Directvsports claims that there is a RELEASE clause in the contract he signed last summer which can be triggered for €70m.
That will come as news to Liverpool fans, who were expecting the Argentina international to be a mainstay in their midfield for many years to come.
Nonetheless Marcelo Benedetto, a reporter in the player’s homeland, states that Mac Allister could become a Real player ‘within a year’.
It’s uncertain that the 14-time European champions will move for the former Boca Juniors man this summer but there is doubt over the long-term futures of midfield duo Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.
Both are out of contract this summer with no word yet regarding a new deal for either.
If they do end up extending, signing one-year deals in line with Real’s policy for players over 30, then it’s not impossible to see them moving for a new starting midfielder next summer.
This week was named as crucial in negotiations between Modric and the club, according to the player’s agent, while Kroos only a few weeks ago was reported to be on the brink of a new contract.
