De Zerbi to Chelsea? Romano reveals the state of play
Chelsea are not in contact with Roberto de Zerbi, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The coaching merry-go-round has had plenty of surprises in store in recent weeks and months. Two of the latest shocks have come in the past few days with Brighton announcing last Saturday that Roberto de Zerbi's time at the club has come to an end.
Then, on Tuesday evening, Chelsea shocked their fans - and players - when they broke the news that they had agreed to amicably part ways with Mauricio Pochettino despite a very impressive end to the season.

The Football Transfers Podcast has revealed that the Argentine is keen on a move to the Saudi Pro League, while we have also confirmed that Chelsea and Brighton have Vincent Kompany on their shortlists.
The Belgian, however, is already in talks with Bayern Munich and the Germans will feel confident of landing the Burnley boss. So Chelsea will have to look elsewhere and one of the names frequently associated with a move to Stamford Bridge is De Zerbi.
Romano on De Zerbi to Chelsea
De Zerbi has been linked with Chelsea for months and it seems logical that he would be in the frame for the job now. According to Fabrizio Romano, however, that is not the case, at least not at this moment in time.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, the transfer expert said: "It's important to mention that Chelsea, at this stage, are not talking to Roberto de Zerbi, another name we always see in the media. But at the moment, De Zerbi and Chelsea is completely, completely quiet."

Romano also ruled out the likes of Thomas Tuchel, Hansi Flick, Sergio Conceicao, Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho. The Blues are, however, admirers of Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna, Stuttgart's Sebastian Hoeness - who wants to stay with his club - and Thomas Frank, who has admitted that he is open to talking to a big club.
