Mohammed Kudus has a release clause in his West Ham contract, according to journalist David Ornstein.

The playmaker joined the Hammers just last summer from Ajax, but already there are suggestions that he could depart.

His stellar inaugural campaign for West Ham, in which he has scored 17 goals and provided six assists in 45 games so far across all competitions, will no doubt draw suitors.

And news of a release clause - via The Athletic - could make a move a lot easier for them. But SciSports shows that, if anything, he should stick to where he is and turn down all proposals sent.

Here, FootballTransfers has gone through the best-suited teams for Kudus. Using SciSports' data, we have found the top five clubs based on how well they do for the 23-year-old’s development and as well as the game-time he would receive there.

Atletico Madrid

The top team that Kudus could move to is Atletico Madrid. Diego Simeone utilises mostly a 3-5-2 formation, which could have Kudus either as one of the leading men or nestled down the middle, operating as a No.10, or even on the right wing.

Atletico play regular Champions League football and are a huge club but whether the attacker would want to remain in the Premier League is another matter.

AC Milan

AC Milan are the second-best destination for Kudus. The Italian giants typically play a 4-2-3-1 formation, providing huge scope for the West Ham star. The Ghanaian could play as either a No.10, in behind the striker, or as the forward himself.

Rafael Leao could well leave the San Siro this summer. Though the Portugal international typically plays on the left-side, it’s still an area where Kudus would flourish.

Newcastle

Newcastle are looking for an upgrade to Miguel Almiron, who is still being monitored by clubs in the Saudi Pro League. The Magpies were linked to Kudus before he joined West Ham, spending their money on Harvey Barnes instead. Without Champions League football, Kudus may have better prospects than Eddie Howe’s men. But the project on offer could be enticing enough for him to make the switch.

West Ham

The fourth on the list is Kudus’ current club - West Ham. David Moyes’ side have worked extremely well already for the former Ajax man, and another season there would not be a detriment to him by any means, with SciSports suggesting that the Irons are the fourth-best suited club for the youngster.

The club are likely to have a new coach at the helm and another good transfer window could make them a dangerous outfit next term.
