Arsenal are now VERY CLOSE to signing 43-goal forward this summer
It is no secret Arsenal are in the hunt to sign a forward this summer. Mikel Arteta’s side would like to add a proven goal-scorer to their ranks in order to bridge the gap between themselves and Manchester City.
This hunt has seen the club pursue a move for Benjamin Sesko but that fell apart with the RB Leipzig forward opting to extend his contract rather than explore his options this summer.
Now Arsenal’s attention has turned towards Sporting CP Viktor Gyokeres. The club’s scouts have been tracking Gyokeres’ progress in Portugal this season and have been impressed by his performances.

Gyokeres scored 43 goals in 50 matches for Sporting in all competitions and finished as the club’s top-scorer while helping Sporting to a league and cup double. On top of that he also registered 15 assists for his side meaning he contributed with a goal or an assist every 72 minutes while he was on the pitch.
It’s easy to see why Arsenal are so keen to bring him to the Emirates this summer, and it seems like Arteta’s side has made a significant step forward in negotiations with Sporting.
According to Leonio Arsenal are now ‘very close’ to signing Viktor Gyokeres after the club held more talks with Sporting and Gyokeres’ representatives this week. The move is now only tied up in the financial details with Sporting set to demand a hefty fee.

Gyokeres only arrived at Sporting last summer after a spectacular season at Coventry City in which the club narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League.
He is now on a long-term contract at Sporting until 2028, which means Sporting will be looking to make a significant profit on the €20m they paid for Gyokeres’ services last year.
