Amario Cozier-Duberry has informed Arsenal that he will leave the club this summer, according to reports.

A highly-rated winger, Cozier-Duberry had been in talks with Arsenal over a new contract for almost a year. FootballTransfers exclusively revealed the Gunners' offer in September and Arsenal stepped up their efforts to convince the 19-year-old to stay in the winter.

Those efforts, however, ultimately proved futile. According to the Evening Standard and Fabrizio Romano, Cozier-Duberry has now informed Arsenal that he will leave the club on a free transfer this summer.

The teenager wants to play first-team football and feels as though the chances of getting it at the Emirates are slim. Romano reports that Cozier-Duberry has attracted interest from around Europe with his decision.

Cozier-Duberry is the latest highly-rated youngster to turn down an Arsenal extension in favour of a move elsewhere.

Arsenal's worrying trend

While it is not unusual for big clubs to let promising young players slip through their grasp, Arsenal fans will be concerned about the level of talent leaving the club in recent times.

As FootballTransfers previously explained, Bukayo Saka is really the only Hale End graduate Mikel Arteta has managed to completely integrate into his first team and turn into a high-level performer.

Arteta has, of course, done a brilliant job overall, but this shortcoming could be worrying as Arsenal's academy is a potential gold mine. Highly regarded defender Reuell Walters will also depart the club this summer, having not been given a real chance with the seniors, and Chido Obi-Martin is another player whose future may lie elsewhere.

FootballTransfers has been able to reveal that his family is pushing for him to leave Arsenal for the Bundesliga, believing that his prospects of first-team minutes are better in Germany. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are fighting for his signature.
