Arsenal are in the market for a new striker this summer, and had been close to signing Benjamin Sesko before the Slovenia star agreed a new contract with RB Leipzig.

In order to fund the signing of a new striker, Arsenal need to offload one of their current nines.

One of Gabriel Jesus or Eddie Nketiah - possibly both - will be sold.

Jesus would prefer to stay at Arsenal if possible but also understands that he is no longer considered a first team player.

Currently, there is no real strong interest in Gabriel Jesus but the summer is still long with the Premier League transfer window still not officially open.

Gabriel Jesus at Arsenal

Gabriel Jesus joined Arsenal in the summer of 2022 from Manchester City for a fee of £45 million (€53m).

The Brazilian enjoyed an excellent first season at the Emirates in terms of his overall game.

His link-up play, movement and pressing was outstanding and a key reason why Arsenal went toe-to-toe with Man City for much of the 2022-23 season.

However, his goalscoring - just like at Man City - continued to be a problem and he scored just 11 goals in all competitions.

In his second season last term, Jesus’ all-round levels dropped and he also suffered from a number of injuries.

Eventually, Jesus lost his place in the starting XI, with Kai Havertz even preferred as the number 9 in an unnatural role.

Jesus finished the 2023-24 season with just four Premier League goals and eight in all competitions.

This has played a role in Arsenal being open to selling him this summer.
