Chelsea and Man Utd target STEALS show on Euro 2024 transfer auditions
It has been a disappointing Euro 2024 for Hungary so far with the team currently sitting bottom of Group A at the moment.
However, individually Hungary’s left-back Milos Kerkez has caught the eye. The Bournemouth defender became the youngest player ever to appear in a European Championship for Hungary and has put in some solid performances at the tournament so far.
Against Germany on Wednesday night, Kerkez won five out of five duels as per FotMob and did well coming up against Jamal Musiala – limiting the Bayern Munich star’s impact on the game.
Kerkez also looked a threat in offensive transitions – bombing down Hungary’s left to create chances for his teammates and cause problems to Germany’s defence.
Meanwhile, against Switzerland in Hungary’s opening game, Kerkez made the most recoveries (6) while he was on the pitch for Marco Rossi’s side and also drew the most fouls (3) from the opposition.
These are performances that will only put the youngster further into the spotlight.
Football Transfers understands that Bournemouth are reluctant to allow Kerkez to leave the club this summer. However, there is strong interest from both Chelsea and Manchester United in Kerkez’s services.
The latter has put Kerkez at the top of the list of options to reinforce Erik ten Hag’s left-back department.
It is understood Kerkez would prefer a move to Old Trafford as well. His father is a Manchester United fan and Kerkez has previously named Manchester United icon Nemanja Vidic as his idol growing up.
Manchester United though will have to pay a hefty sum in order to land Kerkez with Bournemouth valuing him at around £35m.
At 20 years old, the Hungarian has shown he is one of the most promising full-backs in European football at the moment and his performances at the tournament have proven he is worth the figure touted for his services.
Now a busy summer will await Kerkez with his performances at the tournament bound to attract further attention.
